My Services
Whatever brings you in, you'll be met with respect, patience, and care, in English or Spanish. If you're ready to take the next step, I'd be glad to hear from you.
People come to therapy for many reasons. Some feel unhappy, stuck, or unsure of which way to turn. Others are carrying the weight of an illness, a difficult relationship with a boss, a parent, or a partner, or the pain of feeling forgotten, abandoned, or let down by life. Many are working to find their footing again after trauma, such as abuse, crime, or war. Whatever brings you here, you don't have to face it alone.
Therapy is a place where hope can return, where you can find your voice and your choices, and where sorrow can begin to ease. It can open the door to compassion, for others and for yourself, and to forgiveness, in whatever form feels right to you. Above all, it can help you find a way out of the patterns that keep you feeling trapped.
I won't pretend the path is always easy. Sometimes it gets darker before you begin to see the light. Facing painful feelings and memories can be hard, but you won't be doing it alone. Together, we'll go at a pace that feels safe, and that light is worth working toward.

About
Juan F. Madrazo Torres, Psy.D.
With more than thirteen years of clinical experience, I have had the privilege of walking alongside people through some of the hardest chapters of their lives. I trained and practiced under the guidance of Bruce Yanofsky, Ph.D., Jorge Zapatel, M.D., Heritage Center, and the San Diego Psychology Center (SDPC), and I am grateful for the mentorship that shaped my work.
Over the years, I have provided psychotherapy to veterans and to the family members of those serving in the armed forces, survivors of torture, victims of violence and crime, and people living with addiction and other compulsive behaviors. My experience also includes working with seniors and, earlier in my career, with individuals with intellectual disabilities and those on the autism spectrum. Each of these communities taught me something about resilience, and I bring that understanding to every person I work with.
